A love letter to relaxation

Short note Psychology

All day long, all year long, all our lives there is so much intake that occurs. Intake of frustration, anger, envy, influence, pressure, criticism, guilt, fear and much more. It piles up like a pressure cooker, it needs a release. One that is entirely and only your own, where you aren't dependent, where you are the master and the owner of your heart, mind and soul.

For example, most days a week, I consume a warm water concoction in the morning, exercise and do yoga after, generally have healthy breakfasts, read a custom news feed, take internet and walk breaks in the day, play a game or watch a show post work, pass time online each evening, talk to a loved one every night, meet friends, watch football every weekend, sneak in a food & drink craving every now and then, make road-trips every few weeks, fantasize about how I will change the world one day. These habits of course give me happiness and make me feel good about myself but they also help me deal with and release some of the intake. Sometimes I start playing a game because of a lot of chaos in my head and by the end it gets subsided. On the flip-side, many a time, when I don't have these releases, I feel weird, I feel incomplete.

Yes, there is a fine line between a release and an escape. Moreover, too much release often harms. But having none at all can be just as, if not more harmful. I've generally observed men finding their releases (often even escapes), women sometimes struggling by being conditioned to seek their happiness in that of others. But women need it even more for their intake is a lot higher than men. In most cases where there isn't a regular release, there is then a piled up explosion that doesn't feel rational to many others and rightly so! So either you make and plan your own controlled releases or one shall be imposed upon you, but there shall be a release nonetheless.

Do you have a release? If not, please please please find one soon and commit to it regularly!
