Arastu Zakia

Late at night, I was woken up by someone. She wanted my boarding pass…

Short note IndiaHumour

You're asked for your ticket and ID by the guard at the entry to the airport. Then if there's a waiting area for guests, you're asked for your ticket and ID a second time before entering the passenger area. Then you're asked for both again at the check-in counter. Then you're asked for your boarding pass and ID again before the security check even if you're a domestic passenger on an international flight. Then your boarding pass is asked for and stamped post the security check. Then your boarding pass is asked for before you begin boarding. A guard stands 6 feet behind to check your boarding pass yet again. Then before you enter the bus/tunnel, your boarding pass is checked. Then before you enter the plane, a guy checks your boarding pass while you wait in the queue and then one final time your boarding pass is asked for again before you enter the door of the aircraft.

Ideas for when they can ask for your boarding pass again:

  1. After they fake a welcome smile

  2. Before letting you keep your bags in the overhead cabin

  3. Before you sit in your seat

  4. Before you wear your seatbelt

  5. Before they give you any beverages or food

  6. Each time you call for them

  7. Each time you go to the washroom

  8. Before you pull down your chaddi

  9. In the disembarking queue

  10. At the end of the staircase when you get down

  11. Before you board the bus

  12. As you enter the main portion of the airport

  13. As you wait for your bags to arrive

  14. As you pick your bags up

  15. As you go to the airport washroom

  16. Before each piece of turd falls

  17. As you leave the main airport doors

  18. When you call your radio cab

  19. Before you sit in the cab

  20. Outside your home when you reach

  21. In your nightmares after you sleep

That's at least 21 missed opportunities to enforce safety, integrity, lack of intellect and unemployment. The Airports Authority of India really needs to buck up, this is shockingly bad performance!
